Georgian Bay is where Daneson’s summertime headquarters is and, for the unaware, the North shore holds some of the most spectacular and rugged scenery the eye can behold.  A 600km-long lobe at the top of Lake Huron, the ‘Bay’ as we call it, is an inland sea in its own right.  It’s a bizarre harmony of whale-backed curved slabs of granite sculpted by ancient glaciers speckled with pines akin to large-sized bonsai trees pruned by North-Western winds.  When a blow is on, heavy seas and the islands meet to make a harmony where everything (the trees, rocks, water, and clouds) looks as one.  

These blows, big waves, and its boat access isolation makes certain only those who want to be there inhabit this shoreline.  It is a land of unencumbered casual living.  Canoes and beat-up tin boats are the way to get around.  Picnics on remote shoals are the norm.  Fishing.  Naps on a hot afternoon. Gin and tonics. Fires at night.  It’s a land of elegant and wholesome living.
